This is a good quality antique Victorian c.1890 Anglo Indian Vizagapatam trinket box.
Rectangular form, with a slightly domed lid, standing on four carved paw feet. It also can be used as a stationery/table box.
The body decorated with faux tortoiseshell, hand-carved cow bone fretwork, hand-painted flowers on cartouches.
The box is free from personal inscriptions or monograms.
The interior has green velvet lining, an original glass mirror.
DATE: circa 1890
DIMENSION: 21cm x 9.5cm (8 1/4" x 3 3/4"). Height: 7.8cm (3"). approx.
CONDITION: Good condition, minor age-related wear, lacking a key.
