This is a rare early 19th-century Indian colonial sterling silver large Georgian antique pepper pot by Twentyman & Co. (1818-1829).
Cylindrical form on a pedestal. A domed pull-off lid. Reeded borders to the pot and the lid.
The interior of the pot and lid retains their original gold wash (which protects them from corrosion). The interior is in clean condition.
Engraved PEPPER and a monogram MWc.
Fully hallmarked on the base.
It is a large and heavy gauge pepper pot, weighing a hefty 164g. The base is not weighted.
