This is a very rare late 18th-century (c.1790) Georgian antique silver interlocking travelling/campaign knife & fork.
George III hallmarked Sterling silver blade and fork.
Beautifully decorated chased spines. Brass liners.
The knife and fork can be locked and released by sliding the inner brass plates.
Free from personal inscriptions or monograms.
Excellent condition, the hinges on both are firm and so, the knife and fork snap strongly when being opened and closed.
These were made for ease of carrying, it is very rare to see a Georgian interlocking example in this design.
