This is a beautiful late 19th-century (c.1880) Chinese Export solid sterling silver antique napkin ring.
Pentafoil form, each panel decorated with a different landscape scene.
In Chinese art, natural landscape painting Shan Shui was regarded as the highest form of Chinese painting. It is rare to find napkin rings decorated in Shan Shui elements of rolling hills, rocks, rivers and pinetrees.
The decorations are crisp & detailed and of high relief.
It has a circular vacant cartouche that is free from monograms.
