Original high carbon antique steel blades that are strong and robust.
Genuine mother of pearl panels on both sides.
The hinges are firm. The blades have a very strong snap to them. No wobbles.
The blades are still thick and strong (not flimsy). Stamped **AK&Co.
No personal inscriptions or monograms on the MOP.
Carbon steel, which unlike stainless steel, can be ground to a very sharp cutting edge. Early/antique folding knives were made using carbon steel.
