This is an early 19th-century (1827) Georgian Sheffield silver & MOP folding penknife or fruit knife.
Sterling silver hallmarked blade.
Genuine mother of pearl scales on both sides.
Excellent strong hinge+spring. The blade latches at 90° and then 180°, giving a strong snap sound when being opened and closed.
The blade is sturdy and still has a good thickness of silver - not flimsy.
Clear hallmarks. Unusual marks with date letters d and U.

DIMENSION: Length : CLOSED 7cm (2 3/4"). OPEN 12.7cm (5") approx.
CONDITION: Good condition, a tiny nick on the blade edge, a small chip to the bolster end. No splits and no cracks to the mother of pearl scales.
