This is an unusual early 19th-century (1837) Georgian-Willian IV sterling silver heavy cast antique salt spoon.
Measuring 3 3/4" it can be used as a tea or coffee spoon.
Decorated with a face mask to the finial, shell bowl and a 'evil tail' that wraps around the handle, the Arrow of the tail points towards the face.
Original gold wash to the spoon bowl.
The spoon is free from personal inscriptions or monograms.
An excellent quality Georgian novelty spoon, heavy for its size.
