A pair of 19th-century early Victorian (1846) solid sterling silver novelty sugar tongs in the form of a Harlequin jester.
The handles are in the shape of snake ouroboros. Shell patterned bowls.
Beautifully crafted with realistic features: the face, hand and feet/shoe details, dense criss-cross patterns on the clothing - all finely detailed.
The silver has a high quality smooth finish.
Free from monograms or inscriptions.
