Regency Silver



Late 19th-century (1899) sterling silver antique cigarette box by the sought after silversmith Sampson Mordan.

Single compartment. Also can be used for storing jewellery/trinkets.

It has an elegant Modernist design - "pillow" shape with plain finish and rounded corners.

It is hallmarked both on the lid and body. The hallmarks on the body are worn but the internal marks are clear.

The lid has inscriptions of 'Advocates Rifle Club Championship...1901'

Original gilding to the interior.

CONDITION: The top of the wood lining in the interior has splits, chip and wear. The silver body itself is in good condition with no major dents or dings. The silver is thick gauge and robust. The lid closes flush with the body.
