RARE SILVER AND ENAMEL TRINKET BOX

A lovely early 20th-century (1921) square sterling silver trinket/jewellery storage box in Art Deco manner, with a hinged lid and raised on four Scroll feet.

The lid top with superb engine-turned patterns, bordered with blue enamel bands.

The interior covered with black wool lining.

Both of the lid and body are fully hallmarked.

The central cartouche on the lid top is vacant, and has no personal monogram or crests.

A good quality box that is sturdy and solidly built. Genuine 95 year old English sterling silver trinket box. 


HALLMARKS: Birmingham. STERLING fineness 92.5%. MAKER Henry Matthews

DATE: 1921

DIMENSION: 8cm x 8cm (3" x 3").  Height: 4.5cm (1 3/4") approx.

WEIGHT: 144g 

CONDITION: It is in good condition for its age, with some age related wear and scratches. No obvious dents or dings. Some areas of the blue enamel have been repaired please see 3rd and 4th images. The interior black wool lining has been renewed.
