Regency Silver



Top quality pair of late 19th-century (1891) antique solid sterling silver salts, of circular form with beaded rim, each raised on three pad feet.

Made by the quality maker Mappin & Webb. These are by John Newton Mappin, the founder of Mappin & Company. 

The salts are decorated with the most highly detailed lion heads capped feet; repousse and chased flowers, scrolls and leaves to the bodies.

Traces of original gilding in the interior.

Both have matched hallmarks.
