IMPRESSIVE LARGE AND HEAVY ANTIQUE SILVER SUGAR CASTER

A late 19th-century (1890) sterling silver large Victorian sugar caster/shaker in beautiful half wrythen form with fluting. Made by the quality maker Walker & Hall.

The lid top in similar wrythen form, densely decorated with repousse and chased foliated scrolls, shells and flowers. 

Fully hallmarked, both on the body and lid with matching hallmarks.

It has no personalised inscriptions or crest. No previous erasure.

A superb large genuine 126 year old English silver caster.


HALLMARKS: Sheffield, STERLING fineness 92.5% MAKER Walker & Hall

DATE: 1890

DIMENSION: Diameter: 8.5cm (3 3/8").  Height: 23cm (9")  approx.

WEIGHT: 248g or 8 troy oz  approx.

CONDITION: It is in mint/unused condition without damage. one shallow knock on the fluting, only minor. No splits. No repair.
