Magnificent Sterling Silver Art Deco Cigarette Box

A fine large early 20th-century (1938) sterling silver rectangular Art Deco cigarette box, with engine turned patterns all over.

The lid is made is one piece of heavy gauge silver. The reverse of which engraved 'Presented by The Officers of Headquarters Mess RAOC. Donnington to Brigadier CE deWolff, CBE on the occasion of his 50th birthday. November 25th 1943'.  The background silver is so reflective it resembles a mirror.  

It has no other personalised inscriptions or crest to the exterior.

The lid closes flush and straight without leaving any gap.

An exceptionally high quality cigarette box.
