PAIR OF CANADIAN SMALL SILVER SALTS

Late 19th-century pair of Victorian era antique solid sterling silver salts, made by John Wanless & Co. for Roden Bros.

The salts are in bellied circular form with beaded rim, each raised on three webbed feet.

They are both marked 'Wanless & Co. STERLING' and one has additional Roden Bros [R] and pseudo English lion passant hallmarks.

Wanless & Co was a renowned and one of the oldest jewellers in the province of Ontario. They were manufacturing silversmiths and distributors for Roden Bros in the late 19th-century. Roden Bros were later acquired by Birks in the 1950s.

They have no other personalised inscriptions or crests.

A delightful pair of genuine just over 100 year old Canadian antique sterling salts.
