RARE VICTORIAN SILVER MOUNTED, VERY LARGE MATCH STRIKER

A late 19th-century (1896) Victorian globular match striker

It is a very large match striker with a diameter of just over 3½"

The ceramic is in light sand colour, and in lovely soft matte finish.

It has a silver rim and the inner container is also in sterling silver.

The base is stamped with the ceramic maker's mark - a crown with the initials TS/TO?

HALLMARKS: Birmingham, STERLING fineness 92.5%.  MAKER Marks rubbed

DATE: 1896

DIMENSION: Diameter: 9cm (3 1/2").   Height: 7.5cm (3") approx.  

WEIGHT: 658g

CONDITION: Good condition except some scratches and a tiny slit on the silver please see 3rd image, only minor. No major dents to the silver. No damage to the ceramic globe.
