Regency Silver

A late 19th century (c1890) solid silver Indian Lucknow footed bowl.

Profusely decorated with repousse and chased leaf and fish motifs.

The decorations are extremely intricate, dense and detailed.

It sits on three hoof feet, which are also highly detailed.

Fish was the traditional emblem of the Nawabs of Oudh and Lucknow was the capital of the Kingdom of Oudh.

The fish motifs, coriander leaves and the undulating rim are all characteristics of Lucknow antique silver.

As with most Lucknow silver, it is unmarked but the silver has been tested and guaranteed to be high grade silver .900 (90%) and above.

It is free of any personal inscriptions or crests.

A truly beautiful piece, genuine circa 120 year old Lucknow antique silver bowl.
