MAGNIFICENT LARGE GEORGIAN POUNCE POT

A rare early 19th-century (1824) sterling silver English George IV pounce pot.

Large circular bulbous gadrooned body, raised on a pedestal foot.

It has a removable lift off cover which is original. The top with pierced grilles.

Hallmarked both on the lid and body. The hallmarks are still pretty good and clear for the age. The maker's mark is worn, IB possibly please see 5th image.

It does not have any personal engravings or crests. No visible signs of previous erasures.

HALLMARKS: London, STERLING fineness 92.5% MAKER IB possibly

DIMENSION:  Height: 9cm (3 1/2").  Diameter: 7cm (2 3/4") approx.

WEIGHT: 109.6g

CONDITION: Good condition for its age without damage, a few dents mainly on the highest points of the body. No solder repairs. The base is not weighted.
