Regency Silver



An early 19th-century (1810) sterling silver patch box by Cocks & Bettridge.

The lid has lovely engraved geometrical two tone effect decorations.

Fully hallmarked in the interior, on both the lid and the base of the box. 

It has no personal inscriptions or crests.

A rare genuine 206 year old Georgian English silver patch box.

These boxes were used to carry face patches which were essential as well as fashionable accessories from 1600's through to the early 1800's.
