Antique 19th-century Chinese Export (c1880) silver napkin ring/古董银器

A rare childs or christening solid silver napkin ring, measuring 4cm in diameter, of circular form with a central circular vacant cartouche.

The napkin ring is superbly hand chased, repousse and pieced with a continuous scene of a dragon, the body disappearing and reemerging through clouds (image 3).

The decorations are crisp and highly detailed.

The silver has been tested and guaranteed to be high grade silver .900 and above.

Character marks for Luen Wo, Nanking Road, Shanghai.


DATE: Circa 1880

DIMENSION: Diameter 4cm.  Thickness: 2.5cm (approx.)

WEIGHT: 14.7g

CONDITION: It is in good condition, with minor dents and general light wear. Without damage or spits to the pierced work. No repair.
