Regency Silver

 

A pair of antique late 19th-century (1894) sterling silver "Adams" style candlesticks,

with tall tapering columns and square spreading bases.

Decorated with repousse of husk & flower swags and bead borders. 

 The column tops are adorned with urn shaped candle holders, decorated in similar style. 

They have matched detachable sterling sconces, each hallmarked with matching assay and date marks.

Green felt bases.

There are no personalised monogram or crests on the candlesticks. And no previous erasure.

They are quite tall at 26.5cm high, a superb pair of elegant candlesticks which will stand out on any mantelpiece or table setting.


HALLMARKS: London, STERLING fineness 92.5%  MAKER Charles Stuart Harris

DATE: 1894

DIMENSION: Base: 9.8cm x 9.8cm.  Height: 26.5cm (10.5 inches approx.) 

WEIGHT: 1245g or 40 oz  combined. (loaded)

CONDITION: They are both in good condition with some wear commensurate with age and use, a few tiny holes on the high points on the base, and a small knock to one corner of the base, please see 3rd and 4th image. One of the columns leans just very slightly (not noticeable). No obvious dents. As with all antique silver candlesticks they are loaded for stability.
