Top quality Art Deco (Slim Design) Silver Cigarette Case

An early 20th-century 1936 Art Deco solid sterling silver cigarette case,

of rectangular form and stepped/graduated sides on the front and back, giving an illusion of a slim case. The case thickness is just under 1cm.

Engine turned/guilloche decorations throughout the front and back.

The interior is gilded. Original gilding that is still in excellent condition.

The case is made in thick gauge silver, weighing 150g, it feels heavy to hold.

It is fully hallmarked on both sides internally. There is an additional engraving of '21 August 1985', apart from this, no other personal monogram or crest.

The case is fully working, the hinges and the clasp work fine and are still strong with good tension.
